Fat Man, the name for the atomic bomb dropped by the United States in Nagasaki, Japan during World War II. The name is inspired by Churchill's physique. On August 9, 1945, at 11:02 am local time in Japan, an explosion occurred at an altitude of 1800 feet (550 meters). "Fatty" is the second nuclear weapon used in human history, and also the last nuclear weapon used in actual combat. About 40000 people died directly from the explosion of the fat man, and about 25000 people were injured. A building of approximately 7000 square meters was flattened. Afterwards, tens of thousands of people died from cancer caused by nuclear dust radiation.
