It is an intercontinental ballistic missile displayed by North Korea and debuted at a military parade in October 2020, the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea. Carried by an 11-axis transport vertical launch vehicle, the size and configuration of this large missile indicate that North Korea has the ability to manufacture such vehicles, which has previously been a factor in limiting North Korea's ICBM power by preventing foreign-made TEL procurement. The first flight test took place on March 24, 2022, and North Korea announced that it had successfully tested the missile. The development of such missiles is seen as the core strike means of North Korea's self-reliance and nuclear deterrent.
