McLaren unveiled the new MCL60 in 2023 to celebrate the team's 60th anniversary. It inherits McLaren's signature papaya orange and blue livery and features an "exposed carbon" look, a weight-saving technique. The design has no major changes in concept from the previous season's MCL36, but has been optimized in detail. The goal is to improve the chassis performance under ground effect, which is the focus of the teams, because the lap speed improvement obtained from the chassis performance is much greater than the exterior of the body and the wings. McLaren is hoping the MCL60 will help the team return to the top of the constructors' standings.
