Also known as Lake Tiberias, it is the largest freshwater lake in Israel, located in the northern region of Lower Galilee. With an area of approximately 166 square kilometers and a maximum depth of about 43 meters, it is one of the main water sources of the Jordan River. It holds an important position in religious history and is the site of many significant events in the New Testament of Christianity. Jesus performed many miracles here, including walking on water, calming storms, and feeding five thousand people with five loaves and two fish. It is one of the important destinations for Christian pilgrimage. In addition to its religious significance, the Sea of Galilee is also a center for ecology and leisure activities. It is the bond that connects Israel's history and religion.
