It is a main battle tank modified and upgraded by Israel in the 1960 s based on American M4Sherman tanks. It is mainly used to deal with the tank threat in the Middle East war, especially against the Soviet IS-3 heavy tank and the British Centurion tank. It was equipped with a powerful French 105mm D1508 L/51 gun. Capable of firing high-explosive anti-tank shells with a penetration of up to 400mm armor. A new turret, designed by the French arsenal of Bourges, with a larger gun shield and a unique muzzle retractor was also used. Designed and used to showcase Israel's modernization of military equipment.
