The Cassis cornuta is a large sea snail belonging to the family Percidae. The shell is large and thick, with a length and height of up to 30 centimeters. It is gray white to golden yellow, with a metallic luster and a shape similar to a Tang Dynasty hat, hence its name. It is mainly distributed in warm water areas around the world and is a voracious bivalve mollusk. It is found in Malaysia, Indonesia, the South China Sea, and Taiwan, often inhabiting below the low tide line. Tang Guanluo is one of the four famous snails.
