Scorpion snail shell

Scorpion snails have a body length of 95-220 millimeters and are dioecious. The shell is spindle shaped. The height of the snail tower is moderate, and its layers are weakly keel shaped. The sliding layer of the shell axis is well-developed, and there are usually finger like protrusions on the outer lip. The most distinctive feature is well-developed eyes, with long and pointed tentacles on the eye stalks that can be freely retracted. The surface decoration and carving of the shell are rich and colorful. The shell mouth is often narrow and long, with anterior and posterior water pipe grooves, and the outer lip is wide and thick. There is often a siphon duct at the front end. The edge of the shell is serrated near the front end, known as the "Phoenix snail notch". This notch is the tube through which the right eye of this snail extends to peep at changes in the external environment. The operculum has small keratin and serrated edges.
