It was a light reconnaissance tank designed by Germany in 1942, but ultimately failed to enter mass production. Designed jointly by MIAG and Daimler-Benz, it is intended to replace the earlier No. 2 tank, providing stronger firepower and better armor protection. The design was influenced by the Leopard tank, with a sloping front armor, which helped improve protection. The main armament was a 50mm KwK39/1L/60 gun supplemented by a 7.92mm MG34 or MG42 machine gun. Despite some advanced features in the design, the project was canceled in 1943 for a number of reasons.
