Tyrannosaurus is a genus in the family Tyrannosauridae, with the only valid species being the type species Rex, also known as Rex. It is a large carnivorous dinosaur with a body length of about 15 meters, a hip height of about 5 meters, and a weight of about 8 to 13 tons. The Maastrichtian stage, which lived in the late Cretaceous period and dates back approximately 67 to 66 million years, was one of the last dinosaur populations before the Cretaceous Tertiary extinction event. Fossils are distributed in the western United States and Canada in North America, with a wider distribution range than other tyrannosaurids; In the late Cretaceous period, the western part of North America was an independent continent of Laramidia.
