Gorilla is a collective term for primates, hominids, and apes of the genus Gorilla. There are two species, the East African gorilla and the West African gorilla. It is the largest among all living primates, with a shoulder height of about 0.85 meters when quadruped and a height of 1.6-1.8 meters when standing. An upright gorilla can reach a height of 1.75 meters, but its actual body length is longer than this height because its knees cannot be truly extended. Vegetarian, herbivorous, mainly fed on fruits, leaves, and branches. The closest relatives are two other primitive human genera, chimpanzees and humans, both of which differentiated from a common ancestor approximately 7 million years ago
