Wuzhu Qian is a copper currency in ancient China. The money is named after the two seal characters "Wuzhu". In the fourth year of the Yuanding reign (113 BC), Emperor Wu of Han ordered the prohibition of counties and states from minting coins, transported privately minted coins from various regions to the capital for destruction, and transferred the power of coin minting to the central government. The central government has established a specialized coinage institution, which is responsible for minting coins by the subordinate officials of the Shuiheng Captain (Zhong Guan, Bian Copper, and Ji Ji San Guan). Zhong Guan is responsible for casting, discerning copper is responsible for reviewing the quality and color of copper, and the technique is responsible for carving patterns. The coin with the two characters "Wuzhu" on its face was originally cast in the fifth year of Yuanshou (118 BC) of Emperor Wu of Han. It is as heavy as the inscription and is known as the Wuzhu coin, weighing about 3.5 grams per coin.
