This Buddha's head is a work from the 2nd to 3rd century AD, originating from the ancient Indian state of Tula (now Pakistan). It is made of gray gneiss and measures 27.8 x 16.4 x 19.6 centimeters in size. It is currently preserved at the Chicago Institute of the Arts.
