In this model, Canon aims to pursue a small and lightweight camera for the continued use of 8mm movie cameras. Because this model first uses near-infrared active single autofocus to focus on the subject before starting shooting, a new system for film transfer and autofocus using a single transmission device has been developed. The lens uses the same optical system as the best-selling 310XL (launched in 1975), while the barrel has been modified to include an autofocus system. We have adopted a new design with a dual color scheme of dark gray and metallic silver as the base color, as well as a casing that wraps around the camera.
