This is the sister model of 514XL-S. It has an external metering system that replaces TTL metering and removes some features from 514XL-S to reduce costs. We have adopted a newly designed high-speed 3x f/1.2 zoom lens with macro functionality. This lens has a built-in foldable rubber lens sunshade. The new compact Canon boom microphone BM50 was developed for this model. The Canon Boom Microphone BM70, sold together with the 514XL-S, can also be used with this model.
