This is the sister model of 514XL-S. It has an external metering system that replaces TTL metering and has removed some features from the 514XL-S to reduce costs. The new compact Canon boom microphone BM50 was developed for this model. The Canon Boom Microphone BM70, sold together with the 514XL-S, can also be used with this model.
