PPSh-41 is a semi-automatic shooting, bolt, recoil submachine gun that can fire 7.62 × 25mm Tokarev rounds. It was designed by George Shpakin of the Soviet Union and is a cheaper, simplified alternative to the PPD-40. The PPSh-41 engaged in extensive combat during World War II and the Korean War. It became one of the main infantry weapons of the Red Army during World War II, during which approximately 6 million PPSh-41 were produced.
