VSS, also known as "Thread Cutting Machine", is a micro sound sniper rifle developed by the former Soviet Union. Featuring 9x39mm ammunition, it has the characteristics of low sound and almost no firing flames, making it suitable for close range sniping missions. Equipped with an integrated muffler, it can maintain the ability to penetrate Kevlar bulletproof vests even with reduced initial velocity. Equipped with semi-automatic single shot and fully automatic launch modes, suitable for different battlefield needs. Since the 1980s, it has been in service and widely equipped in Russian special forces and law enforcement agencies, particularly playing an important role in the Chechen conflict and the 2004 Beslan hostage crisis.
