Tyrannosaurus Rex belongs to the Tyrannosaurus genus of the Tyrannosaurus superfamily and is the only species under this genus. It was named in 1905 by American paleontologist and academician of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, Henry Osborne. If referring to the translation format of other dinosaur species names, it would be more appropriate to translate their species name as "Tyrannosaurus Rex". Adult Tyrannosaurus Rex has a body length of about 12 meters and a weight of about 7 tons, making it one of the largest land predators ever recorded on Earth. Although the body size of Tyrannosaurus Rex has been challenged by large Allosaurus and Spinosaurus, based on comprehensive research depth and cultural influence, it is still truly the king of dinosaurs.
