The Formula One World Championship Russian Grand Prix, abbreviated as F1 Russia or Russian Grand Prix, is the highest level annual series of track racing events held by the International Automobile Sports Federation at the Russian Grand Prix. The Russian Grand Prix was briefly held twice in St. Petersburg, Russia in the early 20th century. The Formula One World Championship returned to Russia in 2014. On October 12, 2014, the 16th round of the 2014 Formula One World Championship kicked off at the Sochi International Street Circuit in Russia, with British driver Louis Hamilton from Mercedes Benz winning the championship.
