The Golden Satellite Award, commonly known as the Satellite Award, is selected by the non American journalist organization of the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association. It was founded in 1996 and is known as the "Little Golden Globe Award". It is also one of the famous "Oscar benchmarks". The reason why people like to add the word "gold" has a long history. Most of the members of the International Society of Journalists were originally members of the Hollywood Foreign Correspondents Association (HFPA), but due to internal differences, they separated and established the International Society of Journalists and set up the Satellite Award.
