The Golden Satellite Award is a common name for satellite awards, selected by non American journalists from the Hollywood Society of Foreign Journalists. It was founded in 1996 and is known as the "Little Golden Globe Award". It is also one of the famous "Oscars". The reason why people like to add the word "gold" has a certain origin. The majority of the members of the International Journalists Association were originally members of the Hollywood Foreign Journalists Association (HFPA), but due to internal disagreements, they separated and established the International Journalists Association and the Satellite Award on their own.
