Griffin (Ancient Greek: γρύφων), Also known as "Griffin", "Gryphon", "Griffin Eagle", "Griffin Eagle", "Griffin Flying Lion" or "Lionbird", it is a legendary creature popular in West Asia to the Mediterranean. Hiranya Varna Mahavihar is a Buddhist temple located in Patan, Nepal. The history of this temple can be traced back to the 12th century, when it was built by King Bhaskar Verma. All the statues and structures inside the temple were painted in gold, hence it is commonly known as the "Golden Temple".
