Yanko Krar (January 24, 1822- May 23, 1876) was a famous poet and writer in Slovakia, and one of the most important figures in Slovak literary history. He is known for his romantic style poetry and is hailed as one of the pioneers of the Slovak national rejuvenation movement. His collection of works includes multi volume poetry collections "The Song of Slovakia" and "The Garden of Slovakia". He is also a translator who translates world literature into Slovak. This statue is located in the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava.
