Pheasant, also known as wild chicken or mountain chicken, is a member of the pheasant family in the order Galliformes, specifically the ring necked pheasant. The male pheasant has bright and gorgeous feathers, with a wide white ring neck, hence the name ring necked pheasant. Pheasants are found all over China except Hainan Island and the Qiangtang Plateau in Xizang, and also in Southeast Europe, Central Asia, West Asia, the United States, Mongolia, North Korea, Russia, Vietnam and Myanmar. It inhabits low mountains, hills, plains, swamps, and farmland. Individual or small group activities, good at running. Omnivorous.
