It is an animal of the deer family and genus. There are seven subspecies of large deer, second only to the moose, named after their horse like body shape. They have short summer fur, no fur, and are generally reddish brown in color. They have a deeper back and a shallower belly, hence the name "red deer". European deer prefer open forests and avoid dense, pristine forests. Usually living in coniferous swamps, open spaces, poplar broad-leaved forests, and coniferous broad-leaved forests. Likes living in groups. Skilled in running and swimming. Eating various grasses, leaves, tender branches, bark, and fruits, and enjoying licking salt and alkali.
