The white rhinoceros is a mammal belonging to the family Rhinocephalidae in the order Chariotiformes. The white rhinoceros is distributed in southern and northeastern Africa, living near jungles, grasslands, forests, and plains, occasionally entering steep mountain swamps. Living in groups or forming small groups, although males have territorial characteristics, they do not have strong exclusivity, while females have strong childcare behavior. The white rhinoceros feeds on grass. The lifespan is nearly 50 years. The white rhinoceros is known as the king of the rhinoceros kingdom due to its huge size. Among terrestrial vertebrates, its size is second only to elephants, and its weight is second only to elephants and hippopotamuses. [17] Due to its tall and powerful physique, it is also a "star" ornamental animal in zoos around the world.
