Wolves are carnivorous animals in the family Canidae. There are a total of 11 subspecies. Medium in size, well proportioned, with slender limbs and toe mobility, suitable for fast running. They inhabit forests, deserts, mountains, cold grasslands, coniferous forests, and grasslands. It is a nocturnal animal that is good at fast and long-distance running. It prefers to live in groups and often curls up alone or in pairs in caves during the day. However, it also comes out to move around during the day in sparsely populated areas. Carnivorous, feeding on herbivores and rodents. Distributed worldwide except for Antarctica and most islands. Listed as Level 2 in China's National Key Protected Wildlife List (February 5, 2021).
