The AN-94 is a Russian assault rifle, designed as a potential alternative to the AK-74 series rifles serving in the Russian armed forces. Due to its complex design and cost, it failed to fulfill its expected role as a substitute for AK-74, but its use as a special purpose weapon is limited. AN-94 has a unique function of delaying the recoil force of the first two rounds of felt. This increases the hit rate under unfavorable combat conditions. The AN-94 provides a unique two shot combo function, with 1800 bullets per minute, and the firing of the second bullet is very close to that of the first bullet. This feature is commonly referred to as the "super burst" mechanism.
