是由苏联苏霍伊设计局研制的单座双发全天候空中优势重型战斗机，属于第三代战斗机。设计始于1969年，是为了对抗美国F-15 "Eagle" 战斗机而开发的。以其卓越的机动性、高速性能和远程作战能力而著称。采用翼身融合体技术，悬臂式中单翼，具有光滑弯曲前伸的边条翼和双垂尾正常式布局。机身大量采用钛合金，具有四余度电传操纵系统，无机械备份，采用静不稳定设计。至今仍是俄罗斯和其他多个国家空军的重要资产。
