An-2 is a light multi-purpose single engine biplane transport aircraft designed by the Antonov Design Bureau of the Soviet Union in 1946, with smooth flight and reliable structure. It was put into production in 1947, and the main production line ceased production in 1991, with a total output of over 18000 aircraft. Its nearly 45 year production period was once a Guinness World Record. China successfully replicated it in 1957 and named it Yun-5. It was still produced in small quantities at the Shijiazhuang Aircraft Manufacturing Plant until 2011.
