A hovercraft is a high-speed vessel that utilizes the principle of surface effect to create an air cushion between the hull and the support surface by relying on air pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, allowing the hull to sail completely or partially away from the support surface. Air cushion vehicles are often made of light alloy materials and are equipped with power devices such as blowers, light diesel engines, or gas turbines that generate air cushions and drive the ship forward. They also have propellers such as air propellers, water propellers, and water jet propellers. The high-pressure air generated by the blower is sent into the air chamber of the bottom cavity of the ship through the pipeline to form an air cushion to support the ship, and the engine drives the propeller to make the ship sail close to the support surface.
