The Boeing 737-800 is a twin engine turbofan medium to short range narrow body passenger aircraft designed and produced by Boeing. It belongs to the Boeing 737NG series and is an extended body of the Boeing 737-700 aircraft, replacing the Boeing 737-400 and filling the gap left by the retirement of the MD-80 and MD-90. The dashboard of the Boeing 737-800 cockpit adopts a new type of large display screen, and the wings can be optionally equipped with wingtip winglets. The Boeing 737-800 project was officially launched and made its first flight on July 31, 1997. On March 13, 1998, it obtained the FAA model qualification certificate.
