Vesta is the virgin goddess in Roman religion who governs stoves, households, and the household. She is rarely depicted in human form and is often personified by the fire of her temple in the Roman square. Only her priestess Vesta is allowed to enter her temple, and they guard the sacred flame by the fireplace of her temple.
