God is the name of a deity related to the traditional Shinto religion in Japan. It is said that they were originally created for the Uzo Hachiman Shrine in Oita, Kyushu Island. The Uzo Hachiman Shrine has four main deities: Higashida, who helps those engaged in agriculture and maritime travel; The legendary Emperor Chongjun of the 5th century was deified as the Eight Banners of the Gods; Empress Jin Gu; And the gods of Heyuan Mountain who help copper miners. The identities of these two characters are not yet clear, but they belong to a larger group that includes at least three other deities. Woodcarving was first collected at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
