This cultural relic is made of sandstone and can be traced back to the early 9th century AD. The head of this cross axis has been lost, and the back has been hollowed out in the later stage. The cross decorated with free standing stones plays an important role in Anglo Saxon Christian churches. In 1924, this cross shaft was donated to the British Museum.
