Diosculi is a twin deity in ancient Greek and Roman mythology. They rescued the shipwrecked crew and were offered sacrifices by people, giving them a favorable wind. Their mother is Leda, and their father is Zeus, the king of the gods. Later, Zeus placed them in the sky and became the Gemini constellation. In Rome, it is traditionally believed that their worship was introduced in 484 BC. After taking an oath in the Battle of Lake Legilus, Orus Postumius built their temple on the square. Legend has it that in this battle, Diosculi fought from the side of the Romans and brought the news of victory to Rome.
