This is a late 13th century statue of Pisamen, currently housed in the Minneapolis Museum of Art. This statue is made of Japanese cypress wood, painted with colors, gold foil, and metal. It was created by the famous Japanese Buddhist sculptor Higashiko, a craftsman named Chang Qing. Vaishamantian is one of the Four Heavenly Kings in Buddhism, guarding the north, driving away demons, and protecting the human world. He wears a warrior wearing heavy armor, holding a spear and a small tower.
