Tassel cup is a compact perennial herbaceous plant that forms a cluster of neatly lobed, round, toothed, soft furry leaves. Width of 10 centimeters, sometimes tinged with purple. Leaves are evergreen in warm winter regions. From mid spring to midsummer, slender and graceful urn shaped small flower sticks are adorned with tassel petals, far above the lush green hills. Unusual petals may initially be white or creamy in color, but as they age, they typically turn deep pink. Sometimes fragrant, flowers attract hummingbirds.
