Hyacinthoides non scripta (L.) Chouard is a bulbous plant of the Asparaceae family and the genus Hyacinthoides. The stem reaches a height of 50 centimeters, with 3-6 linear leaves, measuring 50 centimeters in length and 2.5 centimeters in width. Each stem droops and bends towards the tip, with 4-16 flowers blooming along one side. The drooping, fragrant flowers are purple blue in color, with little pink or white. Petals and sepals are tubular bell shaped, 14-20 millimeters long, with lobes curled at the tip. Anther creamy color. Fruit pods membranous, nearly spherical, 3-lobed. Seeds 3-30, black.
