A transmission, also known as a gearbox, is a mechanism used to change the speed and torque from the engine. It can fix or shift the output and input shaft transmission ratios. The transmission consists of a variable transmission mechanism and a control mechanism, and some cars also have a power output mechanism. Most transmission mechanisms use ordinary gear transmission, while others use planetary gear transmission.
