Romanesque style is an architectural style in medieval Europe that was mainly popular in the 11th and 12th centuries. This style eventually developed into Gothic style, characterized by semi-circular arches, while Gothic is characterized by pointed arches. The Romanesque architectural style appeared almost simultaneously in multiple countries such as France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, making it the first pan European architectural style since the Roman Empire.
