Located on Kiyoshi Island in Russia, it is one of the oldest buildings on the island, believed to have been built between the 14th and 16th centuries. This church was originally located in the Murom Monastery in the Republic of Karelia, but was later relocated to Kij Island and repaired in 1961. It is one of the oldest surviving wooden structures in Russia, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional Russian wooden architecture. Known for its simple and elegant design, its structure does not use a single nail and relies entirely on the precise fit between the woods. As an iconic building of Kiyoshi Island, it, along with other wooden structures on the island, forms a unique cultural landscape.
