Located on the island of Kij in Russia, it is one of the oldest buildings on the island, believed to have been built between the 14th and 16th centuries. This church was originally located at the Murom Monastery in the Republic of Karelia, but was later relocated to the island of Kij and restored in 1961. It is one of the oldest surviving wooden structures in Russia, showcasing the exquisite craftsmanship of traditional Russian wooden architecture. Known for its concise and elegant design, its structure does not use a single nail and relies entirely on the precise fit between the wood. As a landmark building on the island of Kishi, it, along with other wooden buildings on the island, forms a unique cultural landscape.
