Located in the Podir district of Kiev city, it is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the city. It was built in memory of St. Andrew, who is considered the "Apostle of Ross" because he was the first missionary to spread Christianity in the Kiev Ross region. Designed by Italian architect Bartolomeo Lastelli and built in the mid-18th century, its unique Baroque style and five domed cross design make it an outstanding representative of traditional Ukrainian church architecture. Located on a steep slope, its location and architectural style are impressive. It is an important monument to Ukrainian history, architecture, and 18th century painting.
