It is a medium-sized deer species with a total of 11 subspecies. Males typically have a larger body size than females, weighing between 45-150 kilograms and standing at shoulder heights of 84-106 centimeters. The ears are particularly long, like mules, hence the name. Bucks have prominent horns, with up to 5-8 forked horns that curve slightly inward. Highly adaptable, able to survive in various environments such as cold and temperate grasslands, forests, hills, and even deserts. It is a herbivorous animal, good at running and swimming, and has seasonal migration habits. Widely distributed and abundant in North America, but the population has declined in some areas.
