Hemidactylus frenatus Dumeril and Bibron (1836) is a reptile of lizard genus of Gecko family, which is distributed in Ryukyu Islands, Korean Peninsula, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa, Taiwan Island, Hainan, Guangdong, Yunnan and other places in Chinese Mainland, and mainly lives in the hot zone and often under the eaves and on the wall at night. The type locality of this species is Java, Indonesia.
