犀牛甲虫（Phileurus didymus）隶属于鞘翅目。多分布于热带地区，尤以中美洲、南美洲种类最为丰富，非洲和大洋洲种类较多，亚洲种类相对较少。在我国云南已发现有7属12种。
头部和前胸背板大多有明显突出的分叉角，形似犀牛角，故得名。包括尖角在内的体长可达到6英寸以上(约合15厘米)，而且力量惊人。其中突背蔗龟、橡胶犀金龟、双叉犀金龟俗称独角仙。
