At the 1974 Paris Auto Show, with the launch of Porsche's new high-performance sports car 911 Turbo 3.0 (930), turbocharging technology was officially incorporated into Porsche's production car system. With a maximum power of 191kW and a top speed of 250km/h, the 911 Turbo 3.0 was the fastest road sports car in Germany for a considerable period of time. It was equipped with a turbo overpressure valve (pressure relief valve) that was only visible on racing cars at the time, with a maximum boost value of 0.8 bar. In the spring of 1975, this model began production.
