Common names for turtle feet include Buddha's hand shell, stone turtle, dog claw snail, turtle foot, chicken crown shell, chicken foot, chicken foot, and Guanyin palm. The body is divided into a head and a stalk, generally 2-3 centimeters wide and 3-5 centimeters high. The head is light yellow and green in color. The handle is soft and brown or yellow brown in color, with small calcareous scales arranged tightly on the surface. The largest individual can have a head width of 44 millimeters, a height of 27 millimeters, a stem width of 25 millimeters, and a length of 15 millimeters. The head is flattened on the side and consists of 8 shell plates, including the projection plate, back plate, upper side plate, peak plate, and snout plate, forming a shell chamber. There is a row (21-31) of small side plates in rotation at the base.
