Oshima cherry is a deciduous tree of the Rosaceae family and the Sakura genus. Leaves alternate and often ovate, with gradually pointed tips and double serrated leaf edges. Oshima cherry blossoms are native to the Izu Peninsula in Japan and are distributed in eastern and northern China.
