Wild duck is a bird species belonging to the duck family in the order Yaniformes, commonly known as water duck, reed duck, or clam goose. The narrow definition of wild duck only refers to the mallard duck. Female wild ducks have a smaller body size, with a length of 50-56 centimeters and a weight of approximately 1 kilogram. Enjoying group activities and habitat, they inhabit freshwater rivers, lakes, and swamps with abundant aquatic plants in small groups in summer, and gather into flocks of over a hundred ducks during winter. It has a wide and diverse diet, often feeding on small fish, shrimp, crustaceans, insects, as well as plant seeds, stems and leaves, algae, and grains. Feathers have high economic value, are not wet, have a soft texture, and good insulation performance.
