There are currently two species under the genus Sharksaurus, namely Sahara Sharksaurus and Igidian Sharksaurus. Shark toothed dinosaurs lived in North Africa during the Late Cretaceous Cenoman period. Shark toothed dragon has a very close genetic relationship with Kuizhou dragon, Mapu dragon, and Southern giant beast dragon, which belong to the same class of heteropterosaurs. Shark toothed dinosaur has a very large body size, similar to Tyrannosaurus rex, and may even be larger. Shark toothed dinosaur lived in an era where giant beasts were rampant, including a 15 meter long Spinosaurus, a 9-meter wrinkled dragon, and a 30 meter long sauropod tidal dragon. There were also 12 meter long emperor crocodiles lurking in the water. Shark toothed dinosaurs are likely to feed on giant sauropods of the same era.
