This is a marble sculpture created by Denis Foyatier, with a height of 2.12 meters, a width of 0.63 meters, and a length of 0.97 meters. This work depicts the scene of Spartacus breaking his chains. The work was completed in 1830 and was exhibited at the salon exhibition in 1831. From October 1832 to 1877, this work was kept in the Duileries Garden and on December 3, 1877, it was moved to the Louvre.
